It is our privilege and great pleasure to invite you to join us for the First Joint Meeting of Palliative, Supportive, and Psychooncology Care, June 19 – 20, 2020, Kyoto, Japan. The Joint Meeting of the 33th Annual meeting of the Japan Psycho-Oncology Society (JPOS), the 25th Annual meeting of the Japanese Society for Palliative Medicine (JSPM), and the 5th Annual meeting of the Japanese Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (JASCC), all of which are scheduled directly following the 22th World Congress of Psycho-Oncology in Kyoto the IPOS Congress, Japan, June 16 – 19, 2020,
“Diversity, Dialogue, and Altruism” is our congress theme. The congress will focus on specific diverse symptoms, distress, and needs among patients, family, and healthcare professionals to achieve universal care for all. Furthermore, the topics include genomic medicine, new drugs, such as immune-checkpoint inhibitors, implementation science, eHealth, aging population, disparity issues, training care specialists to meet diverse needs, quality communication problems between patients and medical personnel, suicide after cancer, as well.
We are looking forward to providing a room for English-only session thru the whole meeting. These sessions are held by leading experts around the globe and offer a unique opportunity to deepen research and clinical skills with Palliative, Supportive, and Psychooncology researcher and specialists. It is one of the largest opportunities for an international society in Palliative, Supportive, and Psychosocial care in cancer, providing up-to-date information and enabling scientists, clinicians, NGOs, administrators, and politicians to exchange useful information. Psychologists, doctors, nurses, therapists, social workers, pharmacists, etc. are from over 50 countries. In particular, in 2020, more than 10,000 health care professionals will participate.
You can see the hydrangea blooming everywhere in Kyoto in June. I am very much looking forward to welcoming you in the season when you can feel the taste of Kyoto more.
